Edmond Henry Horne was an ordinary person like anyone
else. He was born in Feb of 1864 at Grandlake East,Oakfield,Nova
Scotia, Canada. Edmond Horne was the grandchild of Jacob Horne who fought in the battle at the Plains of Abraham. Jacob Horne was awarded land in Nova Scotia for his service.
Growing up, Edmond Horne was very poor . When he grew up
he became a prospector and he discovered the Noranda Gold
Mines.
He returned to his home Enfield, Nova Scotia and donated
money to build a wonderful school in 1943. In his honor the
school was named E.H. Horne. |
